It's just an amazing album. Keep Your Head Up is my favourite, but I love Hollywood Tonight, Breaking News, I Like The Way You Love Me, Another Day... OK I could name them all, they all rock!

Excluding BOTDF remixes, since 2001, each time Michael blessed us with new material, he took the album across the board in newer styles, but also offered us a taste of the classic sounds of the past. After nearly a decade of no new material, it took a while for my Michael ear to adjust to Invincible, but I soon came to love nearly every song on that album. Truthfully, nearly another decade later, again, this "Michael" lp is hitting me the same way. But I have adored him for 44(?) years, since ABC. And I think it's difficult to deny that his voice brings a special gift to nearly any style of music. But it also seems to me that only 3-4 of the songs on the album are actually "finished", with the Michael dust sprinkled across them, and those inspire me, while I still mourn. Don't get me wrong, I may love the songs but my "Michael ear" keeps expecting more from some of the songs. So, for right now, even though Behind the Mask is a cover song already done by various other artists (and Mike rarely did a cover as a soloist), I like the jazzy/blues sound that Michael connects with a rock tone in his voice. He auditioned with a blues song for Berry Gordy at age 10, and seemingly was just as born to sing the blues as B.B. King. And I hear the little Michael singing "Who's Lovin' You", almost to the exact note sequences, threaded all through Behind the Mask. The sax backing him up (although cover too) is sooooo sexy, too. I think this song was an excellent choice for his first posthum. album. It allows us to go back to the days of the "bright-eyed, dynamo in a small package" that we old farts fell in love with, but also offers us hints of the jazzy sounds of OTW/Thriller/Bad days that made us all CRAZY. So far, I stand alone in this pole, but that's okay. I think there is a special gift from his heart to each one of us, individually & no matter our age, embedded in this album. I love you, Michael and miss you so much. xxxx & oooo's to all the MJFAM
