I will never forget when the song Scream was first released .... so much promo leading up to it and I had to hear twice before I could connect with it. Then the video came out, and I was initially in disbelief that so much money had been spent on something that was so unlike anything we had ever seen of them before. It seemed that they were out of their own elements, to me, I guess cuz I was so accustomed to their classic styles. And at the time, I could not understand why, as beautiful as Janet is, that she would want her makeup to look so hard and even a little scary (you have to remember the era we lived in). But as an avid fan of both of them, for about 30 yrs at that point, I got past all that, and it drew me in. It was hard not to recognized the amazing talent that is displayed in this vid, (it nearly knocks you down) finding a new appreciation and understanding for what talented creativity is. And a realization that 'Never before, 2 better entertainers placed together on one screen, and never since.' Both incredibly talented and beautifully matched in styles. They were BORN to sing and dance. DANCE & MUSIC ROYALTY, at it's finest!
